Exergy is an early-stage hardware technology company, deploying technology hardware for industrial application to allow recovery and reuse of resources such as water and chemicals.We are seeking a process engineer as a part of our technical staff, with background in membrane - both conventional and advanced separation/membrane technologies.
Please note that the Company is in the process of fundraising and the position will become a paid position after the close of funding or once interim funding is available.
The role will consist of management of comprehensive technical projects from initiation to completion, fostering effective collaboration with clients, prime contractors, and subcontractors to address project-specific challenges. Offer robust technical and engineering field support throughout the project lifecycle, including on-site involvement. Actively contribute to proposal preparation and proficiently undertake report writing responsibilities.
This role focuses on assessment, evaluation, and troubleshooting activities related to advanced membrane and electrochemical separation technologies, particularly in applications for water and wastewater recovery. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the success and efficiency of these projects, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge technologies in the field.
As a Process Engineer/Membrane Technical Staff at Exergy, you will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership for the development and optimization of our advanced membrane and conventional membrane technologies. You are expected to be a strategic thinker, capable of effective communication, and an expert in the technological aspects of membrane systems. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate experience in designing and optimizing processes related to membrane technologies, contributing to the development of our technology roadmap. Your expertise should extend to a deep understanding of industrial processes within our core customer sectors, which may include but are not limited to disk drive, memory, solar, or semiconductor industries. In this role, your insights and contributions will be pivotal in advancing our cutting-edge technologies in the field of resource recovery.
Responsibilities of the Role:

Required Skills • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in chemical /mechanicalEngineering. • A minimum of five years of hands-on experience with companies specializing in the manufacturing of membrane systems or the practical application of membrane technologies. • Proficient in understanding and addressing technical issues related to membrane technologies. • Expertise in the design and sizing of membrane systems is a plus; knowledge and experience in Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO). • Strong background and skills in process engineering, with a focus on membrane technologies. • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to membrane systems effectively. • Knowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards in membrane technology applications. • Experience in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes for membrane systems. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects related to membrane technologies, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes. • Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders involved in membrane-related projects. • Ability to bring innovative thinking to the development and improvement of membrane technologies. • Commitment to staying updated on the latest advancements and trends in membrane systems and technologies. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences. • Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving in the context of membrane applications. • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry practices related to membrane systems.
