The Electrical Engineer will work cross-functionally with Product Development, Automation, Controls, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to bring new products from concept through production while ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards. This position will be on-site reporting to the Head of Capital Projects. Travel is estimated at 10% or less.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and validate electrical systems for automated manufacturing equipment
  • Design and review schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical architecture for new products.
  • Evaluate PCB layouts and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to optimize designs for SMT manufacturing and automated assembly.
  • Develop and execute hardware validation plans, design functional testing (FCT), radio frequency testing (RF), and electrical performance testing fixtures, equipment and applications.
  • Support component selection, qualification, lifecycle management, and supplier technical reviews.
  • Develop electrical specifications, interface documentation, and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure products meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly/Automation (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) requirements.
  • Support development of automated functional test equipment and end-of-line testing processes.
  • Analyze product failures, perform root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate new technologies, electronic components, and communication modules to improve product performance and manufacturability.
  • Support engineering change orders (ECOs), product revisions, and new product introductions (NPI).
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEAs, risk assessments, and reliability studies.
  • Work closely with Controls and Automation Engineers during manufacturing equipment integration and product launch activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and EMC requirements.
