Robotics Systems Engineer (Junior)

We’re looking for a hands-on junior robotics systems engineer to support our robot lab and help us run consistent evaluations. This role focuses on testing robots, preparing data collection stations, and troubleshooting common issues using established procedures. You’ll work closely with our robotics systems lead, with guidance on priorities, testing methods, and more complex hardware or software problems.

What you’ll do

• Run established policy evaluation procedures, record results, and flag unexpected behavior.
• Perform routine station checks, prepare equipment, and support collectors during scheduled sessions.
• Review recordings for basic quality issues and organize datasets using existing formats.
• Troubleshoot common hardware and software issues with guidance, and escalate harder problems to the robotics systems lead.
• Document recurring issues and suggest small improvements to checklists and workflows.

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on robotics experience from projects, coursework, internships or research.
• Basic Python and Linux skills, and an interest in learning how to test robot systems.
• Organized, reliable and detail-oriented. You enjoy figuring out why things don’t work.
• Willingness to follow testing procedures, ask questions, and learn with guidance. Model training experience is not required.

Nice to have: ROS2, experiences setting up robot arms or sensors, data organization, basic mechanical or electronics skills.
