Role & responsibilities

1. Own and evolve PowerPod's technology

Take ownership of existing systems, understand and improve the architecture, and reduce dependency on external vendors.
Leverage AI assisted coding to design modular, secure and scalable systems,
Make pragmatic technology and build-versus-buy decisions.

1. Ensure technology and operational reliability

Ensure chargers, CMS, APIs, Wi-Fi and network technology work reliably.
Improve charging data accuracy, transaction reconciliation, billing and collections through monitoring and automation.

1. Establish engineering & technology cost discipline

Implement effective practices for code reviews, testing, deployments, access controls and production support.
Ensure systems are well-documented, secure and maintainable.
Track and optimize technology costs while monitoring system health, charger uptime and operational performance.

1. Build new products

Build new products and solutions, such as AI-powered image recognition tools for automated CCTV check-ins, operational automation and charging-management tools

1. Partner with business teams

Work with the founders, Finance, Operations and Data to understand business priorities and identify bottlenecks.
Translate business needs into practical technology solutions that reduce manual work and improve productivity.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: approximately 6-10 years, with demonstrated ownership mattering more than tenure.

Core profile

A strong backend or full-stack engineer who has owned production systems end to end.
Comfortable taking over an existing codebase, understanding unfamiliar architecture, and improving it without unnecessarily rebuilding everything
Can work directly with founders and operational teams, translating messy real-world problems into reliable software.
Has independently shipped products from business requirements to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
Understands APIs, databases, networking, integrations, monitoring, security and production debugging.
Uses AI-assisted coding tools to increase development speed, but can independently evaluate, test and debug the resulting code.
