Frontend Engineer

Role

A Front End Engineer at GCS is an expert-level developer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the user interfaces for enterprise applications. Utilizing modern front-end frameworks and a strict adherence to Atomic Design principles, this role ensures our application architecture is modular, scalable, highly performant, and intuitive. Working closely with product and backend engineering teams, you will architect and build complex UI components and partner with our design team to ensure the design is properly codified using front-end development best practices.

Responsibilities

Component Architecture: Architect, write, and maintain reusable, highly modular UI components utilizing Atomic Design methodologies to ensure a consistent and scalable design system.

Front End Operations: Manage complex state management and seamless data flow across enterprise web applications to ensure synchronized and highly responsive user experiences.

Performance & Optimization: Build and maintain highly performant frontend architectures with automated testing, optimized rendering pathways, and a relentless focus on delivering a seamless, high-performing user experience.

User Experience & Delivery: Deploy and manage user-centric interfaces, ensuring strict cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and fluid animations.

Security & Accessibility Support: Implement robust front-end security measures at the code level (e.g., Content Security Policy, XSS prevention, data sanitization) and enforce strict WCAG accessibility standards across all components.

Requirements

Front End Technical Mastery: 5+ years of dedicated hands-on experience architecting, building, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale web applications.

Framework Expertise: Advanced proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular), including custom hooks, advanced state management tools, and enforcing frontend best practices.

Atomic Design & UI Architecture: Deep understanding of component-driven architecture, Atomic Design principles, and experience building or maintaining robust design systems.

Web Technologies: Practical experience mastering modern CSS, HTML5 semantic markup, and modern web APIs.

Testing & Automation: Strong abilities in testing frameworks and integrating frontend builds into CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Accessibility Framework Experience: Prior experience implementing and auditing front-end code for strict accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 AA+.

Enterprise Integration: Experience building user interfaces for complex enterprise software or workflow automation platforms.

Workflow Automation & State Machines: Proven track record of leveraging finite state machines and complex state architectures to drive sophisticated front-end automation, real-time data syncing, and dynamic forms.

Security & Governance Tooling: Experience using automated security scanners and linters embedded into Git workflows to catch frontend vulnerabilities and structural misconfigurations prior to deployment.
