Junior Frontend Software Engineer

FitMate helps people make lasting changes to their health through fitness and nutrition coaching. We are a small company but growing rapidly.

We are looking for a junior frontend developer with a good eye for design. You notice details, write clearly, and learn quickly. You have enough frontend foundation to build and debug real interfaces with support. Fresh grads, self-taught developers, career changers, and people without a CS background are welcome to apply.

We use Svelte on the web, React Native on mobile though we don't require prior experience with either. We support the use of LLMs to write code as long as you stay responsible for testing and verifying it before it ships. No project managers, no sprints, no standups. Meetings are rare and we work fully remotely.

You must be based in the US and eligible to work here without sponsorship. We cannot sponsor a visa. Selected applicants get a short take-home. AI tools are allowed at all stages of the interview process though we are looking for someone with at least reasonable writing skills, so it would be advisable to answer any written questions in your own words.
