Role DescriptionThis is an unpaid remote internship role for a Data Science Intern at AYC IT Healthcare. The intern will support the collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of data related to pharmacy operations, delivery services, customer activity, and technology platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities may include preparing and cleaning datasets, performing exploratory data analysis, developing dashboards and visualizations, identifying operational trends and inefficiencies, and assisting with the development of analytical models and data-driven solutions. The intern may work with pharmacy, delivery, customer, and platform data to help evaluate metrics such as order volume, delivery performance, turnaround times, route efficiency, customer behavior, and operational capacity. The role will involve collaborating with senior team members, product and operations teams, and software engineers to translate business and operational questions into measurable data problems. The intern will also assist with documenting data workflows, validating data quality, interpreting analytical results, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across AYC IT Healthcare’s technology and healthcare operations platform.

Required Skills Basic proficiency in Python or another programming language used for data analysis. Familiarity with Python libraries such as pandas and NumPy. Understanding of fundamental statistics, including descriptive statistics, distributions, correlation, and basic hypothesis testing. Basic knowledge of data cleaning, transformation, and exploratory data analysis. Familiarity with data visualization and libraries such as Matplotlib or similar tools. Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases. Ability to work with structured datasets and identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. Ability to read, understand, and modify existing analytical code or notebooks. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly through written explanations, visualizations, and presentations. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Willingness to learn new data science tools, techniques, and technologies.

Preferred Skills Experience using Python for data analysis or data science projects. Familiarity with pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar data science libraries. Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, or predictive analytics. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and libraries such as scikit-learn. Experience working with real-world, messy, or incomplete datasets. Familiarity with APIs and extracting data from external data sources. Experience with data cleaning, feature engineering, or data pipeline development. Understanding of Git and GitHub or another version-control system. Experience analyzing healthcare, pharmacy, logistics, delivery, customer, or operational data is a plus. Coursework or project experience in data science, statistics, computer science, health informatics, information systems, or a related field.
