COMPANY OVERVIEW

Swept is an early stage gaming company building a new kind of platform for the gaming community. We're bringing competition, content, discovery, and community together in one place, creating new ways for everyday gamers and creators to participate and get recognized.

Swept is currently in alpha as we build toward our public beta launch.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Swept is seeking a Web Developer to join our existing team of four developers. This position will primarily focus on backend development while collaborating with the broader development team on the continued buildout of the Swept platform.

The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of Java, an interest in web development, and an interest in gaming or gaming technology.

This is a part time opportunity for someone interested in contributing to a gaming startup alongside their existing career or other commitments. Our team consists of gamers and developers who typically dedicate a few hours each week to building Swept.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to backend development and platform architecture
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with social media, gaming platforms, and other third party services
• Support user accounts, authentication, and core platform functionality
• Contribute to database development, management, and cloud storage
• Troubleshoot, test, and improve existing platform functionality
• Contribute to frontend development when needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of Java
• Knowledge of or experience with backend web development
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote development team
• Effective English communication skills
• Interest in gaming, gaming technology, or creator focused platforms

• Node.js
• Next.js
• REST APIs and third party API integrations
• Database development
• Google Cloud
• Discord development and integrations

COMPENSATION & LOCATION

This is currently an equity compensated position and does not include cash compensation. Equity terms will be discussed during the interview process based on experience, contribution, responsibilities, and expected commitment.

This is a 100% remote position open to candidates worldwide.

As Swept grows, generates revenue, or raises outside funding, there may be opportunities for early team members to transition into paid positions. Future paid employment or compensation is not guaranteed.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This position offers the opportunity to join Swept during an early stage of development and contribute directly to a platform currently moving toward public beta. Team members have the opportunity to influence the development of the product while working alongside an established development team and holding an ownership stake in the company.
