Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Strong hands-on experience administering Unix/Linux systems, primarily RHEL 7, RHEL 8 and RHEL 9.
In-depth knowledge of Linux OS installation, configuration, patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.
Proven experience in OS hardening, security baselines, user management and access controls.
Experience supporting enterprise applications running on Java and .NET platforms.
Exposure to Data Center Exit or on premises to public cloud migration programs.
Good understanding of system performance tuning, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Bash) for automation and operational efficiency.
Ability to work with database, middleware (TIBCO) and infrastructure teams.
7+ years of overall Unix/Linux administration experience with at least 2 3 years on AWS.
Hands-on experience running Linux workloads on AWS EC2.
Understanding of AWS services such as EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM and CloudWatch.
Experience supporting hybrid environments during transition from on premises to cloud.
Familiarity with automation, Infrastructure as Code or configuration management tools is an advantage.
Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines impacting OS-level operations.
Experience working in large, mission-critical enterprise migration programs.
AWS or Linux certifications are preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead migration of Unix/Linux servers from on premises data centers to AWS EC2.
Perform OS provisioning, configuration, patching and version upgrades on AWS-hosted instances.
Implement OS hardening, security controls and compliance standards across environments.
Support application deployments and troubleshoot OS-level issues for Java and .NET workloads.
Coordinate with cloud, database and middleware teams during migration and cutover activities.
Ensure system availability, performance and stability during migration and steady-state operations.
Automate routine administration tasks using scripting and configuration best practices.
Maintain system documentation, runbooks and operational procedures.
