Epic Cadence Certified Application Analyst
Job Summary
Bitcot is seeking an experienced Epic Cadence Certified Application Analyst to implement, configure, optimize, and support the Epic Cadence application and related patient scheduling workflows.
The ideal candidate will have active Epic Cadence certification, hands-on experience with Epic Cadence, and strong knowledge of patient scheduling, provider template management, patient access, and ambulatory scheduling workflows. The analyst will work closely with scheduling, patient access, clinic operations, clinical, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective Epic solutions and improve scheduling efficiency and patient access.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, implement, maintain, and support Epic Cadence functionality.
- Configure and maintain provider schedules, scheduling templates, appointment types, visit types, availability, and related scheduling workflows.
- Work closely with patient access, scheduling, registration, clinic operations, clinical staff, and business stakeholders to understand operational requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and operational requirements.
- Analyze existing patient scheduling and access workflows and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional designs and Epic Cadence configuration.
- Support workflows related to appointment scheduling, provider scheduling, appointment management, referrals, availability, and patient access.
- Perform system analysis and troubleshooting to resolve application issues and implement new functionality.
- Design, build, test, validate, and deploy Epic Cadence enhancements and system changes.
- Develop and execute unit, integrated, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Create test plans, test scripts, and testing documentation for application changes and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain system design, build, configuration, workflow, and application support documentation.
- Research vendor release notes and application documentation to understand new functionality, upgrades, and system changes.
- Support Epic Cadence implementations, upgrades, enhancements, conversions, and optimization initiatives.
- Participate in project lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, design, build, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate resolution with technical teams, other Epic application teams, interface teams, vendors, and end users.
- Collaborate with other Epic application analysts to support end-to-end workflows and integration with related Epic applications.
- Participate in go-live preparation, deployment, stabilization, and post-go-live support.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency, provider utilization, appointment availability, patient access, and workflow consistency.
- Provide application support, troubleshooting, training, and knowledge transfer to end users.
- Work with operational leaders and stakeholders to understand, prioritize, and address application needs.
- Communicate project status, application issues, risks, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Required
- Active/current Epic Cadence certification is required.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Epic Cadence or related Epic patient access applications.
- Strong understanding of patient scheduling, provider scheduling, appointment management, and patient access workflows.
- Experience with Epic application analysis, configuration/build, testing, implementation, optimization, and production support.
- Experience configuring and supporting provider templates, appointment types, visit types, schedules, availability, and scheduling workflows.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Experience translating operational requirements into Epic Cadence configuration and functional solutions.
- Experience with unit testing, integrated testing, regression testing, and UAT.
- Experience troubleshooting application issues and supporting day-to-day production functionality.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with scheduling, patient access, clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Epic Cadence implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and optimization projects.
- Epic Prelude and/or Referrals certification is a plus.
- Experience supporting the broader Epic Patient Access suite.
- Experience with Referrals workflows, including referral coordination and authorization-related processes.
- Experience working with integrated Epic applications such as Prelude, MyChart, Resolute, and other clinical or revenue cycle applications.
- Strong knowledge of ambulatory scheduling and patient access workflow optimization.
- Experience with provider template management and appointment utilization optimization.
- Experience with workflow redesign and healthcare process improvement.
- Experience supporting Epic go-live activities and post-go-live stabilization.
- Experience with application design, build documentation, testing, and system lifecycle methodologies.
- Additional Epic certifications are a plus.
