Epic ClinDoc Certified Application Analyst
Role Overview
Bitcot is seeking an experienced Epic ClinDoc Certified Application Analyst to support the design, build, configuration, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of the Epic Clinical Documentation (ClinDoc) application.
The ideal candidate will have active Epic ClinDoc certification, strong hands-on experience with ClinDoc, and a solid understanding of inpatient clinical documentation and healthcare workflows. The analyst will work closely with physicians, nurses, clinical informatics teams, and other stakeholders to translate clinical requirements into effective Epic solutions and improve the efficiency, consistency, and usability of clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, test, implement, maintain, and optimize Epic ClinDoc functionality.
- Analyze clinical and operational requirements and translate them into effective Epic ClinDoc solutions.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, informatics teams, and operational stakeholders to understand documentation needs and workflow requirements.
- Analyze current-state clinical documentation workflows and identify opportunities for workflow improvement and system optimization.
- Support the configuration and maintenance of clinical documentation tools, templates, flowsheets, SmartTools, navigation, and related ClinDoc functionality.
- Participate in application design sessions, workflow reviews, requirements-gathering sessions, build activities, and functional/technical reviews.
- Develop and maintain functional specifications, workflow documentation, configuration documentation, and other application-related materials.
- Develop and execute unit, integrated, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Create test scripts and coordinate testing with clinical and operational users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ClinDoc application issues and provide ongoing production support.
- Coordinate complex issues with technical teams, interface teams, vendors, and other Epic application teams when required.
- Support Epic ClinDoc implementations, upgrades, enhancements, optimization initiatives, conversions, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in go-live planning, deployment, post-go-live stabilization, and ongoing application support.
- Evaluate existing ClinDoc functionality and recommend improvements to documentation efficiency, usability, data quality, and workflow consistency.
- Participate in workflow redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical informatics and operational teams to standardize documentation workflows and application functionality.
- Provide application support and guidance to end users and assist with issue resolution.
- Develop training materials and provide application training, education, and knowledge transfer as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of application changes, configuration decisions, issues, and resolutions.
- Track project tasks, issues, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to project and application leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Active/current Epic ClinDoc certification is required.
- Hands-on professional experience supporting Epic ClinDoc.
- 3+ years of experience in Epic applications, healthcare IT, clinical informatics, or a related field; 5+ years preferred.
- Strong understanding of inpatient clinical documentation workflows.
- Experience with Epic application analysis, build, configuration, testing, implementation, optimization, and production support.
- Experience gathering and documenting clinical and operational requirements.
- Experience translating clinical workflows and business requirements into Epic application solutions.
- Experience developing test plans, test scripts, and supporting integrated testing and UAT.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within an Epic environment.
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, clinical leadership, informatics teams, application teams, and technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Epic ClinDoc within a large or complex healthcare environment.
- Experience with full-cycle Epic ClinDoc implementations.
- Experience supporting Epic upgrades, enhancements, conversions, and optimization projects.
- Strong knowledge of inpatient nursing and physician documentation workflows.
- Experience with clinical documentation standardization and workflow redesign.
- Experience supporting Epic go-live activities and post-go-live stabilization.
- Experience working with integrated Epic applications and cross-application workflows.
- Experience with ClinDoc-related SmartTools, SmartTexts, SmartPhrases, flowsheets, documentation templates, and navigators.
- Additional Epic certifications are a plus.
- Experience providing end-user training and application education.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
