Epic Ambulatory Analyst

Position Overview
Bitcot is seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Analyst to support the design, build, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Ambulatory applications.
The analyst will work closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, evaluate workflows, develop application solutions, and provide ongoing production support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Serve as an application resource for Epic Ambulatory applications.
  2. Analyze, design, build, configure, test, implement, maintain, and optimize Epic Ambulatory functionality.
  3. Partner with physicians, nurses, clinical staff, ambulatory leaders, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to understand business and clinical requirements.
  4. Analyze existing ambulatory workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization.
  5. Translate clinical and operational requirements into effective Epic application solutions.
  6. Gather, analyze, and document business, clinical, and functional requirements.
  7. Develop and maintain application specifications, workflow documentation, configuration documentation, and related technical documentation.
  8. Develop and execute test plans and test scripts, including integrated, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  9. Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution with technical, functional, vendor, and other application teams.
  10. Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and support timely resolution.
  11. Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, enhancements, optimization initiatives, and application-related projects.
  12. Participate in workflow and application design sessions.
  13. Support go-live activities, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
  14. Provide ongoing production support, application maintenance, and issue resolution.
  15. Collaborate with Epic representatives and other Epic application teams as required.
  16. Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, operational efficiency, patient care processes, data quality, and end-user experience.
  17. Provide application training, user support, and knowledge transfer as needed.
  18. Manage assigned project tasks and deliverables across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  19. Communicate project status, issues, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  1. Active/current Epic Ambulatory certification.
  2. Hands-on experience supporting Epic Ambulatory applications.
  3. Experience with Epic application analysis, configuration/build, testing, implementation, optimization, and/or production support.
  4. Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical and operational workflows.
  5. Experience gathering and translating business, clinical, and functional requirements into Epic solutions.
  6. Experience working with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
  7. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to manage multiple priorities and application initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of relevant Epic/healthcare IT experience; 5+ years preferred.
  2. Experience supporting Epic Ambulatory in a large or complex healthcare environment.
  3. Experience with full-cycle Epic implementations.
  4. Experience supporting Epic upgrades, enhancements, and optimization projects.
  5. Experience with go-live planning, implementation, and post-production stabilization.
  6. Experience with ambulatory workflow redesign and healthcare process improvement.
  7. Experience working with Epic Systems representatives.
  8. Additional Epic certifications.
  9. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
