SDE - II

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building reliable, scalable backend systems and applications that power FOXO’s personalized health platform. They will design and implement production-ready APIs, data systems, and services while taking ownership of features from development through deployment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and data models
• Build APIs and systems for biomarkers, lab reports, personalized health protocols, member profiles, and progress tracking
• Develop reliable notification, communication, and workflow systems
• Design secure access controls using Supabase Row Level Security
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code and troubleshoot production issues
• Own features end-to-end, from database design and API development to deployment and production support
• For fullstack candidates, develop Next.js, React, and TypeScript applications and internal tools
• Work with GCP Cloud Run, Supabase, pgvector, GitHub Actions, and AI APIs as part of the engineering stack

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with Python and backend application development
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar async frameworks
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and debugging
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, including versioning and change management
• Experience building production-grade, scalable, and testable applications
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization, access control, and secure handling of sensitive data
• Experience with GCP, Supabase, CI/CD, or cloud-based deployments is a plus
• For fullstack candidates, strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend development
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
