About the job
Hardware Intern – Job Description
Who are we
Syook is an established Series A-funded high-growth startup headquartered in Bengaluru, working in the B2B space. We are currently on the path of high growth and productivity, and great culture building (because we know the two go hand in hand)! We are looking for folks who will ask questions like why/why not, what can I do to make this better, how can I help the company and most importantly, what can the company do to help you.
Our flagship product, Syook InSite, allows businesses to visualize their operations, providing information that can easily translate into measurable impact on the bottom line. InSite is an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons to generate highly accurate location data of assets and people at a significantly lower cost than comparable technologies. The result: faster ROI and improved operational performance. It’s Industry 4.0, ready for deployment.
Role Overview
As a Hardware Integration Intern, you will support the deployment, integration, testing, and validation of IoT hardware solutions. You will work closely with the hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure devices are configured, integrated, and functioning reliably across different customer environments. This role offers hands-on exposure to industrial IoT systems, hardware troubleshooting, and real-world product deployments.
Key Responsibilities –
Assist in assembling, configuring, and testing IoT hardware devices and gateways.
Support integration of sensors, BLE beacons, gateways, and other edge devices.
Perform hardware installation, wiring, and connectivity checks for prototypes and production units.
Troubleshoot hardware, power, and communication issues during testing and deployment.
Validate device functionality and perform basic hardware diagnostics.
Assist in firmware flashing, device provisioning, and configuration.
Work with engineering teams to identify and resolve hardware integration issues.
Prepare test reports, installation documentation, and hardware inventory records.
Support prototype validation, field testing, and customer deployment activities.
Follow hardware quality standards and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
Freshers - B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
Basic understanding of electronic components, circuits, and embedded hardware.
Familiarity with IoT devices, sensors, communication protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, UART, SPI, or I2C) is a plus.
Hands-on experience with soldering, multimeters, or basic lab equipment is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to work with hardware in laboratory and field environments.
Why you might be excited about us
We're solving real-world industrial problems and making businesses more efficient.
We're a small, agile team where your work will have a direct impact and minimal red tape.
We encourage learning and experimentation. You'll work alongside professionals across hardware, firmware, software, and product teams.
You'll be trusted with meaningful responsibilities from day one.
You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Industrial IoT deployments and modern hardware technologies.
We value work-life balance and believe great work comes from healthy, motivated people.
Why you might not be excited about us
We're still growing (~50+ people), so if you prefer large organizations with highly structured roles, this may not be the right fit.
Our processes continue to evolve, and you'll be expected to contribute to improving them.
We move quickly, and priorities can change based on customer and product needs.
You'll be given ownership early, which means learning by doing and solving problems independently.
About You
None of these are hard requirements, but they reflect the kind of people who thrive at Syook:
Curious about electronics, IoT, and hardware systems.
Enjoy hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting.
Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Eager to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
Detail-oriented and committed to building reliable solutions.
Take ownership of tasks and proactively seek improvements.
Interview Process - We want to understand how you think, learn, and solve real-world problems—not just what you've memorized.
Introductory Call with HR
A short conversation to understand your background, career goals, and interest in hardware and IoT. We'll also introduce you to Syook and the role.
Walk-in Drive / Screening Round
You'll visit our office for an in-person interaction, document verification (if required), followed by:
Technical Assessment
A written or practical assessment covering basic electronics, hardware fundamentals, troubleshooting, digital circuits, and IoT concepts. Depending on the role, there may also be a hands-on hardware exercise.
One-on-One Interview with the Department Head
A technical discussion focused on your academic projects, hardware knowledge, troubleshooting approach, and interest in embedded systems and hardware integration.
Culture Fit Round
We'll understand your working style, collaboration skills, learning attitude, and how well you'll fit into Syook's fast-paced culture.
Offer & Onboarding
If everything aligns—congratulations! 🎉 We'll roll out an offer and welcome you to the Syook team.
