Kodo · New York City · Full-time
Build something you can own a piece of.
You have earned your place among the best sellers on your team. You know how to open doors, win trust, and close. Now you want the responsibility, freedom, and upside that come with helping build a business.
We are looking for an exceptional Founding Account Executive to help scale Kodo. You will work directly with the founders, win new customers, shape how we sell, and help build the sales team around you. With uncapped commissions and significant equity participation, you will have a stake in the growth you create.
What we are building
Kodo is the Customer Delight Platform that helps brands turn customer understanding into lasting loyalty. We connect customer data, research, rewards and engagement so brands can deliver relevant experiences, give people reasons to return and grow the value of every relationship.
You will sell to leaders in marketing, loyalty, CRM, and digital experience. Your job is to understand what matters to their business, show how Kodo can help, and bring the right people together to get a deal done.
The role
You will own the full sales cycle and help lay the foundations for our growth:
- Hunt and create opportunities. Choose your accounts, find the opening, and earn the meeting through research, outbound, relationships, and referrals.
- Lead the deal from first conversation to signature. Run discovery and demos, build the business case, develop a champion, and navigate commercial negotiations, procurement, and technical evaluation.
- Build a sales approach we can scale. Turn what you learn into sharper positioning, better qualification, and a playbook that helps the next seller succeed. Keep your pipeline and forecasts honest.
- Shape the business. Work closely with the founders and product team. Bring clear insight into what customers value, what wins deals, and what needs to improve.
- Build the team around you. Help recruit and coach exceptional people as we grow. Earn increasing leadership responsibility through your results and your ability to make others better.
Who we want
You have 4+ years of closing experience in B2B SaaS and a track record that stands out: Presidents Club, repeated quota overachievement, top team rankings, or equivalent results you can explain.
You have sourced and closed your own business. You can earn the attention of a senior buyer, ask difficult questions, build conviction, and keep a complex deal moving. You are comfortable discussing customer data, integrations, and implementation, and know when to bring in technical expertise.
You work hard. You prepare, follow up, and do what you say you will do. You move quickly, take feedback well, and stay accountable when things get difficult. You want to lead, and you are ready to establish the standard through your own work.
Experience selling customer engagement, marketing technology, loyalty, customer data, or digital experience software is particularly relevant. That could include Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable, Talon. One, Contentsquare, Attentive, Bloomreach, Insider, Optimove, Customer.io, Antavo, or Hightouch. We care about what you accomplished and how you accomplished it.
You are based in New York City or willing to relocate.
Why join Kodo
This is a foundational role with room to grow quickly. You will have direct access to the founders, real influence over our sales approach, and the opportunity to help build a team and a much bigger business.
The expectations are high. So is our ambition. We want someone ready to do the best work of their career and share in the value they help create.
Compensation and ownership
- Base salary: $130,000–$160,000 USD annually.
- Uncapped commission: a performance-based plan with meaningful earning upside. Commission terms will be agreed as part of your offer.
- Significant equity participation: ownership in the company you help build, with grant terms agreed as part of your offer.
