Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Technical Lead to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Snowflake, modern data engineering practices, cloud technologies, data modeling, and team leadership.

This role will be responsible for driving architecture decisions, establishing best practices, mentoring engineers, and ensuring successful delivery of business-critical analytics and data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Snowflake Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Snowflake-based data platforms.
  • Define scalable and secure data platform standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership for data engineering projects and modernization initiatives.
  • Review solution designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Drive performance tuning, optimization, and cost management of Snowflake environments.

Snowflake Platform Management

  • Design and manage Snowflake databases, schemas, warehouses, resource monitors, and security policies.
  • Implement data sharing, secure views, masking policies, row-level security, and governance controls.
  • Optimize Snowflake workloads for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead migration initiatives from legacy platforms such as Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop, or Netezza to Snowflake.

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Build and oversee ELT/ETL pipelines using tools such as:
  • Snowpipe
  • dbt
  • Fivetran
  • Informatica
  • Matillion
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Databricks
  • Develop batch and real-time data ingestion solutions.
  • Implement data quality, monitoring, lineage, and observability frameworks.
  • Design data models supporting analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with business, analytics, governance, security, and application teams.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Present architecture recommendations and project updates to leadership.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for Snowflake initiatives.

Experience with the following tools and technologies is preferred:

  • Microsoft SQL / SQL Server
  • Python
  • SharePoint
  • Advanced Excel, including formulas, VBA, Power Pivot, and Pivot Tables
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular Models

The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively resolve system issues, including production outages. The individual should be comfortable working in large, complex environments and possess a blend of strong technical and communication skills.

Education

Degree in Computer Science.
