Job Description

Supports Avista’s greenfield SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud implementation (Project Epicenter) by developing and operating the integration and automation portfolio that connects S/4HANA with the applications around it. The ERP Integrations Developer builds interfaces on SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh) within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), linking S/4HANA with boundary systems such as customer service, field service, mobility, procurement, and banking platforms. Workload automation is the other half of the role: building the Redwood RunMyJobs job chains that schedule and orchestrate batch processing across SAP and connected systems. The role delivers integration and automation objects through Design-Build-Validate sprints alongside the System Integrator, supports test cycles and defect resolution, and builds the monitoring, alerting, and error handling that make interfaces supportable in production. After go-live the role continues to operate and enhance the integration landscape.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and unit test integration flows on SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration iFlows, API Management policies, and event-based patterns.
• Develop mappings and transformations (Groovy, XSLT, message mapping) across REST, OData, SOAP, IDoc, and file-based interfaces.
• Build and maintain Redwood RunMyJobs process definitions, job chains, and schedules that automate SAP and non-SAP batch processing, file transfers, and event-driven triggers.
• Configure interface connectivity and security, including SAP Cloud Connector destinations, OAuth, and certificates, in partnership with BASIS and Security.
• Deliver assigned integration and automation objects through Design-Build-Validate sprints, meeting acceptance criteria and sprint commitments.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and error handling into every interface and automated job so production issues are visible and recoverable.
• Support system, integration, and user acceptance test cycles, resolving defects through root-cause analysis.
• Document interface designs, data flows, job schedules, and operational procedures.
• Partner with the Data and Integrations Lead, functional analysts, and the System Integrator to close design gaps and reduce rework.
• Support cutover, hypercare, and post-go-live operation of the integration and automation landscape.
• Communicate with external stakeholders (vendors) to build integrations between systems.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing system integrations or APIs
• Working knowledge of REST, OData, SOAP, JSON, XML, and authentication patterns such as OAuth and certificates
• Scripting or development experience such as Groovy, JavaScript, or Java
• Experience with enterprise job scheduling or workload automation tools
• Knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and work well in a team environment and matrix organization
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the enterprise

Preferred Requirements

• SAP Integration Suite or SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) experience
• Redwood RunMyJobs experience, or experience with enterprise schedulers such as IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler or Control-M
• Experience integrating ERP platforms such as SAP S/4HANA
• Event-driven architecture and message queue experience
• SAP BTP connectivity experience, including SAP Cloud Connector and destinations
• Utility industry experience
• Scrum experience, including Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) or Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) certification
• SAP Integration Suite or Redwood RunMyJobs certification

Hiring Range: $88,336 to $114,838


Integrations Developer, Expert

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related field preferred
• +7 years of related experience
• Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) or Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
• Expert level of experience in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development.
• Expert level of experience and practices with current security standards, internal and external security risk assessment process and compliance audits.

Hiring Range: $100,378 to $131,496


Integrations Developer, Solution Architect

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related field preferred
• Advanced degree in relevant discipline preferred
• +7 years of related experience in two disciplines (security, technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations).
• Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) or Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
• Expert level of experience in strategic technology planning, execution and policy development.
• Expert level of experience and practices with current security standards, internal and external security risk assessment process and compliance audits.
• Expert level of experience in data analysis and trends


Hiring Range: $114,207 to $150,183

Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Sprague office in Spokane, WA at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with additional day(s) determined by the manager.
