We're looking for a seasoned Manager, Data Engineering who is ready to lead, build, and innovate at scale from our home office in downtown Greenville, SC.

What You'll Do

As our Manager, Data Engineering, you'll be both a hands-on architect and an inspiring leader — spending 4–6 hours a day in active development while guiding a talented team of 6+ engineers. You'll design and scale cloud-native data platforms, drive our data engineering vision, and collaborate across the organization to ensure our data infrastructure supports bold business goals.

• Architect and manage high-performance, scalable cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, DBT)
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers
• Build and maintain robust ingestion frameworks, workflow orchestration, and automation solutions using open-source Apache tools (Airflow, Kafka, Spark, NiFi)
• Define data models and standards across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources
• Partner with executive leadership to align data strategy with business objectives
• Promote a culture of continuous integration, delivery, and innovation
• Evaluate and manage third-party vendor relationships to ensure reliability and cost efficiency

What You Bring

• 8+ years of experience in a data engineering, data architecture, or related leadership role
• Proven hands-on expertise in cloud computing platforms — Snowflake, AWS, and/or DBT
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, plus SQL & NoSQL database experience
• Deep knowledge of Apache open-source tools (Airflow, Kafka, Spark, NiFi)
• Solid understanding of microservices, event streaming, and distributed systems
• Experience with machine learning and data science concepts
• Exceptional communication skills — you can translate complex technical concepts to any audience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred)
