New Value Solutions (NVS) is seeking an experienced Manager, Technical Services to support a global provider of advanced power-system protection relays and disturbance fault recorders.
The Manager, Technical Services will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Technical Services function while serving as a senior technical resource for customers, Sales, Application Engineering, Marketing, and Product Development. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in power-system protection, numerical relays, disturbance recorders, automation, commissioning, and customer-facing technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Services Engineers.
- Provide strategic direction for the Technical Services department and ensure timely, high-quality customer support.
- Support customers through technical consultations, product demonstrations, application guidance, and training.
- Serve as a senior technical contact for customer questions, escalations, and complex protection-system issues.
- Support installation, commissioning, configuration, and operation of protection and automation products.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product comparisons, application materials, and proposals.
- Support Sales and business-development activities through technical expertise and customer engagement.
- Work closely with Marketing, Application Engineering, Engineering, and Product Development.
- Represent at technical conferences, industry forums, and customer meetings.
- Contribute to manuals, datasheets, ordering guides, application notes, and other technical documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in customer support processes and technical-service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Approximately 15 years of experience working with numerical protective relays and disturbance/fault recorders.
- Strong experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
- Expert knowledge of electric power-system protection, integration, and automation.
- Strong knowledge of protective-relay applications within utilities, engineering firms, OEMs, or consulting environments.
- Experience with EMTP, load-flow, and short-circuit studies.
- Knowledge of advanced communication protocols and communication-system architecture.
- Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, troubleshooting, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to manage difficult customer or internal discussions professionally.
- Utility, consulting, or engineering-company experience is considered an asset.
