Senior AI/ML Engineer — Interior Design Intelligence

Visuali is building an AI interior design and shopping platform. A user uploads a photo of their room, describes what they want to change, and receives a coordinated design using real, purchasable products.

We have an existing MVP and a detailed development scope. We’re looking for a senior, hands-on AI/ML engineer who can build Visuali’s design intelligence, integrate it into the product, and help bring the platform to controlled beta. We are open to a contract engagement or a longer-term role.

What we’re looking for:

Personally built and shipped AI/ML systems, ideally involving multimodal understanding, computer vision, recommendation or ranking, generative images, or product retrieval.

Know how to turn expert judgment and imperfect real-world data into training examples, evaluation criteria, and improving product behavior.

Can assess when to use foundation models, retrieval, rules, or trained components—and can demonstrate that the chosen approach works.

Can build production systems in Python and integrate AI services with an existing application. Experience with FastAPI, Postgres, React/Next.js, and TypeScript is valuable.

Can take ownership of architecture and implementation, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and ship in stages without losing sight of the complete product.

We care more about what you have built and how you measured its quality than a checklist of model names.
