About the job
Tune · Contract, with potential to become Head of Marketing · Seattle, in person
Dating apps are broken. They get worse the longer you use them. We built Tune the other way: your dates get better the longer you use it.
We're launching in Seattle first and looking for the person who will make Seattle notice. It starts as a contract. If Seattle works, it's the highest-growth role at Tune.
What you'll own
- Local marketing that gets Tune seen: creative, low-budget, often guerrilla
- Partnerships across the city: coffee shops first, then student organizations at the University of Washington, Seattle Central College and North Seattle College, and the groups where people already meet, like run clubs, climbing gyms and social clubs
- An ambassador team that spreads the word
- The seed community: real people, onboarded, using the app
- Measurement: what works, what doesn't, and what our engineering team should build to track it
- Waitlist growth and Tune's social channels
- The playbook, so the next city can do it again
You build it, working directly with the CEO. No ready-made plan. We brainstorm together, agree the goals and the budget before anything is spent, and review the numbers together. Turning that into results is yours.
Where this goes. Seattle is the start. Once it works, you turn it into a playbook the next city's lead can run, and help them get where you got. That means travel: you're on the ground as new cities open, making sure each launch works, and as the team grows, you lead it. Do that city after city and you're who we want leading marketing at Tune: Head of Marketing, then Global Head of Marketing as Tune goes beyond the US. Results earn that path, not past titles or time served.
Who we're looking for
We believe curiosity, drive and energy move the world. Not age, and not a résumé that looks the part.
- You go and get things instead of waiting to be told
- You keep raising your own bar
- You think dating apps are broken and want to fix that, not just market it
- You know Seattle socially, not just geographically, and why it's hard to meet people here
- You've gotten something noticed with no budget, and can show how you knew it worked
- You've built a community from nothing: a club, a run group, a newsletter, something people kept coming back to
- You track what works, drop what doesn't, and ask for the data you're missing
- You're comfortable on camera
- You'd love to travel as Tune grows
- Knowing the University of Washington from the inside is a strong plus
Not for you if
- You need a plan handed to you
- You have a big following but no in-person track record
- You want to host parties. This is marketing, not a social club.
How it works. An eight-week paid contract in Seattle from early January 2027: $700 to $875 a week for 20 to 25 hours ($35 an hour), with a real budget and clear targets. If it works for both of us, it becomes a full-time role, with compensation and equity discussed then. Our CEO works from Türkiye, ten to eleven hours ahead, and we work together by video. Early mornings your time are when we overlap.
To apply, tell us the most creative thing you've done to get attention with no budget: what you did, what it cost, how you knew it worked, and what you'd do differently now. Apply here or at [email protected]. Interviews are by video.
Already thinking about what you'd do first in Seattle? We'd like to hear from you.
Note: This starts as a part-time contract, eight weeks from early January 2027, 20 to 25 hours a week, at $35 an hour. The salary range shown is for the full-time role it can become (there will be potential for equity as well depending on how the trial goes).
