Role Description This full-time, on-site Mechatronics Robotics Technician role is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The technician will install, configure, and maintain robotic systems, including robotic welding equipment and associated mechatronic components. Daily responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control issues, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime. The role involves monitoring robot performance, updating programming as needed, and collaborating with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations. The technician will follow safety protocols, document work performed, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the robotics and automation environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess practical skills in Robotics and Robot operation, including setup, calibration, and basic programming.
- Candidates should possess experience with Robotic Welding systems and related mechatronic equipment in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Candidates should possess abilities in Preventive Maintenance, including inspections, routine servicing, and documentation of robotic systems.
- Relevant technical education such as a diploma, associate degree, or apprenticeship in mechatronics, robotics, electrical, or mechanical technology.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and safe work practices when working with automated and high-voltage equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional facility and maintenance teams.
- Prior experience in a facilities, manufacturing, or automation environment is beneficial.
