Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Application Architect with extensive experience in cloud migration, enterprise application architecture, modernization initiatives, and multi-technology environments.

The Application Architect will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing application solutions while leading application transformation and cloud migration initiatives across complex enterprise ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in application architecture, cloud platforms, integration technologies, microservices, APIs, and modern software development practices. This role will collaborate closely with business leaders, product owners, engineering teams, security architects, DevOps teams, and infrastructure teams to define technology roadmaps and deliver solutions supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise application architecture standards, principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Lead application modernization and cloud migration initiatives from initial assessment through implementation.
• Design cloud-native, microservices-based, and API-driven application architectures.
• Analyze existing applications and recommend appropriate migration, re-platforming, refactoring, re-architecting, or modernization strategies.
• Develop architecture blueprints, solution designs, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps.
• Partner with development, DevOps, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, platforms, and architectural patterns and provide recommendations.
• Drive architecture governance and ensure solutions comply with enterprise technology and security standards.
• Design highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant, secure, and resilient enterprise applications.
• Lead application integration initiatives across cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews, design sessions, technical assessments, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Support CI/CD implementation, DevOps transformation, infrastructure automation, and continuous delivery initiatives.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement throughout the application lifecycle.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and implementation guidelines.
• Mentor development teams and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural decisions align with business objectives and long-term technology strategy.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Application Architecture and Enterprise Architecture.
• Extensive experience with cloud migration and application modernization.
• Strong knowledge of major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience designing cloud-native and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API-driven development.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, API gateways, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of application integration across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, automation, and modern software development practices.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with enterprise architecture patterns, scalability, high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
• Strong understanding of application security and secure architecture principles.
• Experience evaluating legacy applications and developing modernization roadmaps.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant cloud architecture certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Architect are a plus.
• Experience working in large-scale Telecom or enterprise technology environments is preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
