About CrowdIQ & Fancam
CrowdIQ is a sports technology company helping teams, leagues, venues, events and brands better understand, engage and create value from live audiences.
Our business includes two core offerings:
Fancam is our fan engagement and sponsorship activation platform. We capture an entire crowd in incredible detail, allowing fans to find themselves, zoom in, tag and share their photos. The experience is fully branded and creates a digital activation that extends beyond the event itself, generating measurable engagement and valuable exposure for teams, events and sponsors.
CrowdIQ is our audience intelligence platform. Using high-resolution imagery, computer vision and crowd analytics, CrowdIQ helps organizations understand who actually attends their events, how fans behave, what captures their attention and what is happening throughout their venues.
Fancam engages the crowd. CrowdIQ understands it.
Together, they help organizations create more valuable live experiences, stronger sponsorship assets and a better understanding of their audiences.
The Role
We are looking for a Business Development Associate to help us find and win new Fancam business.
This is a junior sales role for someone who wants to learn how to create business from scratch. Your focus will be identifying events where Fancam could create value, finding the people responsible for those decisions and turning cold prospects into active sales opportunities.
That could mean a bowl game, tournament, graduation, festival, race, concert, major sporting event, sponsor activation or something we haven't thought of yet.
You will research opportunities, prospect through email, phone and LinkedIn, follow up consistently and learn to run sales conversations and close Fancam opportunities yourself.
Over time, there is significant room to grow from individual Fancam activations into larger partnerships and eventually more strategic CrowdIQ opportunities.
What You'll Own
Find & Create Opportunities
- Identify events, organizations and brands that could be a strong fit for Fancam.
- Build prospect lists across sports, entertainment, colleges, festivals, races, concerts, tournaments and other major live events.
- Research upcoming events and identify the people responsible for sponsorships, partnerships, marketing, fan engagement and event decisions.
- Look beyond the obvious and find new markets and use cases for Fancam.
Prospect & Sell
- Reach out through email, phone, LinkedIn and other channels to create new conversations.
- Develop relevant outreach based on the prospect, event and potential opportunity.
- Follow up consistently and find different routes into organizations when the first contact doesn't respond.
- Learn how to explain Fancam simply and connect it to a prospect's objectives.
- Run introductory sales conversations, qualify opportunities and keep them moving.
- Prepare pricing and simple proposals with support from the commercial team.
- Develop toward independently closing Fancam opportunities, bringing in senior leadership for larger or more strategic deals.
Manage Your Pipeline
- Keep accurate records of prospects, opportunities and next steps in our CRM.
- Stay on top of follow-ups so opportunities don't stall.
- Track your activity, pipeline and revenue against clear goals.
- Learn from what works and continuously improve how you prospect and sell.
What We're Looking For
This role could be a great fit for someone graduating from college or someone with 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, sports, sponsorship, events, marketing or another commercial role.
More important than your resume is how you approach the job.
We're looking for someone who:
- Wants to build a career in sales and business development.
- Is comfortable reaching out to people they have never met.
- Is willing to pick up the phone rather than relying entirely on email.
- Communicates clearly and professionally.
- Is curious and willing to research before reaching out.
- Can handle rejection without losing momentum.
- Follows up when other people would give up.
- Is organized, proactive and accountable.
- Is interested in sports, live events, sponsorship or fan engagement.
You do not need an existing network in sports or extensive sales experience. We can teach you the industry, our products and how we sell.
We cannot teach you to want to chase opportunities.
What Will Make You Stand Out
You notice opportunities.
You see a bowl game, championship, concert, festival, packed stadium or major sponsor activation and start wondering who organized it, who owns the decision and how Fancam could be part of it.
If someone doesn't respond, you follow up. If that doesn't work, you find someone else. You're comfortable figuring things out, and you want to learn how to sell.
Career Growth
We see this role as the beginning of a sales career, not a permanent prospecting position.
The initial focus will be generating and closing one-off Fancam opportunities. As you develop, you can progress into larger Fancam partnerships, professional teams and venues, agency and brand relationships, and eventually more strategic CrowdIQ opportunities.
Location & Travel
This is a fully remote position based in the United States.
Periodic travel may be required for client and prospect meetings, industry events, conferences and company gatherings.
Compensation
Base salary: $45,000-$60,000, depending on experience
This role includes uncapped commission tied directly to new Fancam revenue generated and closed, with on-target earnings of approximately $70,000-$80,000+.
Performance-based company incentives and equity options may also be included.
