Solutions Engineering Director – Data & AI Platform

Role Overview

Squadron Data is seeking a Solutions Engineering Director to lead technical sales engagements and partner closely with enterprise customers to design and deliver modern data architectures on Snowflake.

This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and business impact. You will work alongside Account Executives to navigate complex sales cycles, engage with senior stakeholders, and position Snowflake as the foundation for data, AI, and analytics transformation.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience in data platforms (especially Snowflake), a strong background in technical leadership roles, and the ability to translate complex architectures into compelling business value for executive audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical sales strategy and execution across strategic accounts, partnering closely with Sales and executive leadership
• Engage with customer architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to design scalable Snowflake-based data architectures
• Drive complex technical discussions that clearly articulate the value of Snowflake across the full sales lifecycle
• Build and present reference architectures, solution designs, and demo applications aligned to customer use cases
• Support and lead enterprise Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate Snowflake for real-world workloads
• Capture the technical win by guiding customers through data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML solution design
• Establish trusted advisor relationships with customer technical and business leaders
• Contribute to account planning and growth strategy to expand platform adoption and usage
• Represent customer needs internally and collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams
• Act as a thought leader by promoting Snowflake capabilities through customer engagements, industry events, and internal initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data platforms, analytics, or cloud technologies
• 3+ years in a pre-sales or technical sales leadership role
• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake (architecture, performance, ecosystem)
• Deep understanding of modern data architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, Medallion architecture)
• Experience with SQL, Python, and data engineering pipelines
• Proven ability to engage and influence C-level and senior executives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical conversations
• Background in consulting or solution architecture is highly preferred
