Starfish Space provides satellite servicing missions with its Otter servicing vehicle, including life extension missions for geostationary satellites and disposal missions for low Earth orbit satellites. Founded in 2019, Starfish has raised over $150M in venture capital funding and built a team of engineers with experience spanning satellite guidance, navigation, control, and autonomous robotics. Starfish has launched several missions to-date, and is focused on delivering Otter satellite servicing missions for SES, the U.S. Space Force, the Space Development Agency, NASA, and others.

Position Description

Starfish Space is scaling rapidly, and we are looking for an Operations Manager to serve as a key operational engine for our high-growth team. In this role, you will own and execute critical business initiatives across hiring, onboarding, and cross-functional special projects. We look for operations practitioners who solve complex problems from first principles and thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. This is an opportunity to shape the operational foundation of a pioneering space technology startup, and have a direct impact on humanity’s future in space.

Qualifications

• US person (citizen or permanent resident)
• Willing to work from our Tukwila, WA headquarters several days per week
• Capable of working a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where job tasks may change regularly
• College degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and verbal skills along with a high level of professionalism and integrity

Desired Experience

• Previous experience owning and solving challenging business problems in a fast-paced environment
• Previous startup, finance, or consulting experience a bonus

ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
