About the job

Product Lead – B2B SaaS / AI

About Zylu
Zylu is building an AI-powered growth and management platform for salons and beauty businesses. We help salons grow revenue, automate customer engagement, simplify bookings, and manage their business from one platform. Growing across India and international markets, including North America, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Southeast Asia.

We are a lean, fast-moving, product-driven SaaS company. We are looking for a hands-on Product Lead who can own product outcomes from discovery through adoption. This is not a project management or backlog management role.

You will have meaningful ownership of what we build, why we build it, and whether it creates measurable value.

What You'll Own

Product Discovery & Customer Understanding

  1. Regularly engage with customers, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.
  2. Understand the problem behind customer feature requests.
  3. Identify opportunities using customer feedback, product usage data, market insights, and business priorities.
  4. Develop a deep understanding of salon workflows and customer pain points.
  5. Turn customer problems into scalable product solutions.

Product Strategy & Prioritisation

  1. Own and prioritise the product roadmap.
  2. Balance customer needs, business goals, product data, market opportunities, and technical constraints.
  3. Decide what should be built now, next, later, or not at all.
  4. Make clear trade-offs between customer requests, growth opportunities, product improvements, and technical investments.
  5. Work directly with the founding team to translate business strategy into product priorities.

Product Execution

  1. Turn product problems into clear requirements, user flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  2. Work closely with Engineering and Design from discovery through release.
  3. Resolve product ambiguity quickly.
  4. Help Engineering make informed product trade-offs.
  5. Validate features before release.
  6. Partner with Engineering and QA to ensure product quality.

Product Growth & Adoption

Own outcomes across:

  • Activation
  • Adoption
  • Engagement
  • Retention
  • Conversion
  • Expansion
  1. Identify and remove friction from onboarding and key customer journeys.
  2. Run experiments to improve customer and business outcomes.
  3. Partner with Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing to increase adoption.
  4. Treat a feature as successful only when customers discover it, use it, and receive value from it.

Product Analytics

  1. Define success metrics before major product initiatives begin.
  2. Monitor feature usage and adoption after launch.
  3. Analyse customer behaviour and feedback.
  4. Identify friction, drop-offs, and opportunities.
  5. Use quantitative and qualitative data for prioritisation.
  6. Decide whether features should be:
  7. Improved
  8. Promoted
  9. Simplified
  10. Repositioned
  11. Retired

AI Product Development

  1. Help shape Zylu's AI-first product experience.
  2. Build experiences around:
  3. AI automation
  4. Conversational AI
  5. AI agents
  6. Intelligent recommendations
  7. AI-powered workflows
  8. Identify workflows where AI creates meaningful customer value.
  9. Avoid adding AI simply for the sake of having AI.
  10. Work with Engineering to make AI experiences simple, useful, reliable, and measurable.
  11. Stay current with relevant AI product developments.

Product Launches

  1. Own product launches with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering.
  2. Define the customer problem, value proposition, and expected outcome.
  3. Ensure internal teams understand new capabilities.
  4. Coordinate:
  5. Release communication
  6. Product documentation
  7. Internal enablement
  8. Adoption initiatives
  9. Measure launch performance and iterate based on results.

What We're Looking For

  1. 4-7 years of relevant product experience.
  2. Significant hands-on Product Management experience in SaaS or technology.
  3. Experience owning products or major product areas end-to-end.
  4. Strong experience across:
  5. Discovery
  6. Prioritisation
  7. Requirements
  8. Execution
  9. Launch
  10. Adoption
  11. Measurement
  12. Iteration
  13. Demonstrated ownership of measurable outcomes such as:
  14. Activation
  15. Adoption
  16. Engagement
  17. Retention
  18. Conversion
  19. Expansion
  20. Revenue

  21. Strong customer discovery and problem-solving skills.

  22. Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.

  23. Good commercial understanding.

  24. Ability to connect product decisions with customer value and business outcomes.

  25. Comfortable working closely with Engineering and understanding technical trade-offs.

  26. Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.

  27. Strong written and verbal communication.

  28. Strong cross-functional stakeholder management.

  29. Comfortable working directly with the CEO, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing.

  30. Comfortable using modern product management, analytics, prototyping, and AI tools.

  31. Strongly preferred: Experience working in a lean, fast-growing startup or scale-up, ideally during a stage when the company had approximately 30–150 team members.

  32. Should have experience working with limited resources, moving quickly, and personally owning outcomes rather than depending on large specialised teams.

AI Experience
Meaningful hands-on experience building or launching AI-powered product experiences.
Practical understanding of:

  • Conversational AI
  • AI agents
  • Automation
  • Recommendations
  • Human-in-the-loop workflows
  • AI reliability
  • AI-specific UX

Able to identify where AI creates genuine customer value.
We care more about what you have built and learned than whether your previous company called itself "AI-native."

The Kind of Product Leader Who Will Thrive Here

  1. Prefers talking to customers over managing Jira.
  2. Asks "why?" before turning a customer request into a feature.
  3. Comfortable moving between customers, data, UX, engineering, and business metrics.
  4. Cares about whether customers actually use what gets shipped.
  5. Comfortable saying "no" or "not now."
  6. Prefers ownership and execution over meetings and process.
  7. Can take an unclear problem through to a measurable customer outcome.
  8. Uses AI to work faster and rethink how software should work.
  9. Comfortable getting hands-on rather than simply delegating.

This Role Is Not

  1. A Scrum Master role.
  2. A project management role.
  3. A Jira/backlog administration role.
  4. A people-management role at this stage.
  5. A role where requirements are handed to you for coordination.
  6. A role focused only on shipping features.

Growth Path

  1. Significant product ownership from day one.
  2. Increasing ownership of Zylu's overall product strategy.
  3. Opportunity to build and mentor the future Product team.
  4. Increasing ownership of product and business outcomes.
  5. Opportunity to become a key member of Zylu's leadership team.
  6. Potential path toward Head of Product as Zylu and the Product organisation scale.
  7. Growth based on demonstrated impact and leadership, not tenure.

Hiring Process

  1. Intro Conversation
  2. Experience and background
  3. Products personally owned
  4. Career goals and expectations

  5. Product Deep Dive

  6. Walk us through a product you personally owned.

  7. Explain the problem, decisions, trade-offs, execution, and measurable outcome.

  8. Zylu Product Case

  9. Work through a real Zylu customer/product problem.

  10. Demonstrate customer thinking, prioritisation, product judgment, and commercial thinking.

  11. Founding Team Conversation

  12. Product thinking

  13. Ownership

  14. Startup working style

  15. Expectations

  16. Mutual fit

We value customer obsession, clear thinking, speed, ownership, and demonstrated outcomes more than impressive titles.
