Job Title: Dimensional Engineer

Location: Remote (PST Preferred)

Duration: 12 Months

Employment Type: Contract W2

We are seeking a highly skilled Dimensional Engineer to support the development and manufacturing of innovative hardware products. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimize product designs through advanced tolerance analysis, variation simulation, and geometry control methodologies. You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, manufacturability, and successful transition from concept development to high-volume production.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers passionate about precision engineering, manufacturing processes, and solving complex design challenges through analytical modeling and simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to geometry control strategies for complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform 3D dimensional and variation simulations to support design and manufacturing decisions.
  • Develop and implement GD&T schemes, datum structures, and tolerance stack-up analyses.
  • Partner with design, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to improve product robustness.
  • Use simulation-driven approaches to identify and mitigate variation-related risks.
  • Support metrology activities, measurement planning, and process validation efforts.
  • Participate in Gage R&R studies and measurement system evaluations.
  • Author and review manufacturing inspection procedures and measurement documentation.
  • Drive best practices related to dimensional engineering, tolerance analysis, and variation management.
  • Support products throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept development through production launch.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in dimensional engineering, tolerance analysis, or related engineering functions.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D variation simulation tools such as:

CETOL

  • Strong expertise in GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience performing tolerance stack-up and dimensional analyses.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including: Injection molding, Machining, Additive manufacturing / 3D printing
  • Experience supporting product development from concept through production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years focused specifically on dimensional engineering and variation simulation.
  • Experience developing geometry control strategies for high-volume products.
  • Background in industries such as: Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Devices, Consumer Products
  • Experience with NX or other 3D CAD platforms.
  • Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R, and PPAP methodologies.
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or Quantum XL.
  • Ability to develop scripts, automation tools, or algorithms for measurement data analysis and simulation.
