Role Overview

GTET Private Limited is looking for an experienced Industry Interface Manager to develop and strengthen industry–academia engagement and build meaningful relationships between the institution/Center of Excellence (CoE) and industry.

The role will focus on creating opportunities for industry-sponsored projects, internships, live projects, placements, expert interactions, industrial exposure, partnerships and other collaborative initiatives.

The Industry Interface Manager will act as a key interface between academic capabilities and industry requirements, helping translate industry needs into structured academic and industry engagement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Identify, approach and establish relationships with industries, OEMs, MSMEs, startups, technology companies and industry associations.
Develop and execute a roadmap for campus outreach programmes across Odisha to promote VeDIC CoE as SPOC Centers.
Identify opportunities for live industry projects, sponsored projects, consultancy, R&D and technology-development initiatives.
Facilitate collaboration between industry professionals, faculty and students for project execution.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of companies offering internships, industrial training, apprenticeships and project opportunities.
Coordinate student internships and industry engagement activities with industry partners.
Facilitate industrial visits, plant visits, job-shadowing, industry immersion programmes and practical exposure.
Maintain records of internship opportunities, participation, outcomes and feedback.
Organize Industry–Academia Meets, guest lectures, expert sessions, workshops, FDPs, seminars, webinars, panel discussions and technology showcases.
Invite industry experts to participate in curriculum inputs, mentoring, project reviews and technical committees.
Identify opportunities for MoUs and structured long-term industry collaborations.
Support the placement team by developing new industry connections and employer relationships.
Regularly map industry skill requirements, technology trends, job roles and emerging competencies.
Share industry feedback with academic and programme teams to improve training programmes and curriculum relevance.
Plan and execute industry-focused events, technology demonstrations, networking sessions and business/technical meets.
Promote institutional/CoE capabilities, projects, technologies and student achievements to industry stakeholders.
Maintain an Industry Engagement Pipeline covering prospective and active industry partners.
Prepare and submit periodic reports on industry engagement, opportunities, conversions and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Management or a relevant discipline.
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
4–8 years of experience in industry relations, business development, corporate relations, placement, academia–industry engagement or a similar role.
Strong understanding of the industry–academia ecosystem.
Good understanding of CAD/CAM/GEOVIA tools from Dassault Systèmes.
Prior working knowledge of relevant Dassault Systèmes software will be an added advantage.
Existing professional network with industries, OEMs, MSMEs, startups, technology companies and professional bodies will be an advantage.

Travel

The role requires willingness to travel for industry meetings, institutional visits, industry–academia events, industrial visits, networking activities and other professional engagements.

Role Focus

The primary focus of this role is to build and strengthen industry relationships, develop new partnership opportunities, create opportunities for internships and industry projects, facilitate industry–academia collaboration, support placement and engagement initiatives, organize industry-focused activities, and maintain a structured industry engagement pipeline.
