About the job
Qompyl is building a no-code trading platform that enables traders to research, build, backtest, and monitor strategies without needing to code.
We’re looking for a quant-minded trader/researcher to help us build the quantitative layer behind that experience.
This isn't a traditional discretionary trading or software QA role. We’re looking for someone who can turn a market hypothesis into a quantitative signal or systematic strategy, test it rigorously, challenge the results, and help translate the research into an intuitive product.
You’ll work on:
- Quantitative signal & indicator research
- Systematic strategy development
- Python-based market analysis and backtesting
- Statistical validation and robustness testing
- Performance & risk analysis
- Identifying overfitting, look-ahead bias, survivorship bias and unrealistic assumptions
- Translating quantitative research into product features
- Collaborating directly with product, engineering, data, and trading contributors
Ideal background: quantitative finance, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, engineering, physics, computer science, or similar - combined with hands-on exposure to financial markets.
Core skills: Python, statistics/probability, systematic trading, backtesting, market data analysis, and trading/risk concepts.
Bonus: time-series analysis, optimization, factor models, ML, SQL, Pine Script, TradingView, derivatives, or previous fintech experience.
Remote · Part-time (12–15 hrs/week) · Currently equity-only
Ideal for someone who already has a primary role or consulting work and wants meaningful ownership in an early-stage fintech.
