Placement Overview

Kyotiq Solutions is offering a student placement opportunity for current students undertaking a formal education or training course that requires or formally recognises a vocational placement or internship as part of their course requirements.

The placement provides students with practical exposure to early-stage software development, MVP design, user experience, product validation, and the process of transforming an early-stage concept into a functional prototype within a learning-focused environment.

Students will gain exposure to how technology products are planned, structured, tested, and improved while developing practical technical and problem-solving skills.

This is an unpaid student placement and is only open to current students whose education or training course requires or formally recognises the placement as part of their course.

Learning Activities

Under guidance and supervision, students may:

• Learn how an early-stage technology concept is translated into an MVP or prototype.
• Explore software architecture, product requirements, user flows, and interface design.
• Assist with designing and developing prototype features under supervision.
• Learn about front-end, back-end, database, API, and authentication concepts where relevant to the project.
• Explore different technology stacks and evaluate their suitability for an early-stage product.
• Assist with testing prototype functionality and documenting bugs or usability issues.
• Learn how user feedback can be incorporated into product design and development.
• Assist with improving prototype functionality based on supervised testing.
• Develop basic skills in technical documentation, version control, and structured software development.
• Prepare a summary of technical learning, development activities, and observations.
• Present their prototype work and learning outcomes at the end of the placement.

The placement is primarily focused on learning, training, experimentation, observation, and skills development.

Students will not be responsible for client software, commercial product delivery, sales, customer acquisition, commercial negotiations, revenue generation, or maintaining an existing production system.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled in an approved education or training course.
• Require or have formal approval for this placement as part of their course, subject, module, vocational placement, or internship requirements.
• Be studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Have an interest in software development, product development, startups, artificial intelligence, or technology.
• Have basic programming knowledge in at least one relevant language or development environment.
• Have basic problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
• Be willing to learn unfamiliar technologies where required.

Previous professional software development experience is not required. The placement is intended for students who want practical exposure to designing and developing an early-stage technology MVP.

Placement Details

Duration: 8 weeks
Time commitment: Approximately 5 hours per week
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid vocational/student placement

Placement requirement: The placement must form part of the student's formal education or training course and be approved or recognised by the relevant educational institution.
