About the job
Company Overview
Polygraf AI is an Austin-based AI security and governance company building the Behavioral Control Plane for Enterprise AI. As enterprises adopt AI at scale, most existing tools can only flag policy violations after they happen. Polygraf enforces policy in real time, at the point of engagement, using on-device small language models layered with deterministic rules rather than generative models alone. The result is local enforcement with zero data egress and sub-100ms latency, purpose-built for organizations that cannot afford to get AI governance wrong.
We are early, moving fast, and building our go-to-market function from the ground up. This is a company where the systems, process, and playbooks you build in your first year will define how the team operates for years to come.
The Role
Polygraf is hiring its founding Inside Sales Representative to own the full sales cycle for our self-service and freemium product line, including Meeting Guard and our AI content detection product. This person will prospect, qualify, run the sales process, and close, owning the number from first touch to signed deal.
This is a product-led growth motion, and our self-service and freemium model is actively being built. In the near term, that means this role is full-cycle: working inbound interest as it develops and building outbound pipeline to reach target through direct prospecting. As the freemium funnel matures, the balance will shift toward inbound follow-up, and this person will help shape that transition, not just react to it.
What You'll Do
- Own the full sales cycle for Polygraf's PLG product line, from first contact through close
- Follow up on and convert inbound interest generated through our self-service and freemium product
- Build and run outbound prospecting to generate additional pipeline and hit target when inbound volume alone is not enough
- Identify and engage target buyers in talent acquisition and recruiting, including both corporate TA teams and recruiting firms
- Run product demos, handle objections, and negotiate and close deals independently
- Build the playbook for this motion as you go: messaging, qualification criteria, demo flow, and pricing conversations
- Log all pipeline activity in the CRM accurately to support forecasting and go-to-market visibility
- Partner with the Head of Sales and product team to feed market and buyer feedback back into the self-service and freemium roadmap
- Use AI tools to work inbound and outbound pipeline efficiently, personalize outreach at scale, and speed up qualification
You'll Love This Role If You
- Want to own a full number yourself, from the first conversation to the signature
- Are energized by building a sales motion from the ground up rather than inheriting one
- Are comfortable generating your own pipeline when inbound alone will not get you to target
- Want real influence over how a new product line goes to market, not just a quota to hit
What You Bring
- 2+ years of full quota-carrying sales experience, ideally with both prospecting and closing responsibility
- A track record of managing a complete sales cycle independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to run a consultative, efficient sales process on a shorter cycle
- Comfort generating your own outbound pipeline alongside working inbound leads
- Working experience with a CRM to manage pipeline and forecast accurately
- Based in Austin, TX
- Genuine interest in using AI to improve your own sales efficiency and effectiveness, not just familiarity with the concept
- A data-driven, process-oriented mindset, with the discipline to build structure into a role that starts with none
Nice to Have
- Experience selling to talent acquisition, recruiting, or HR technology buyers
- Experience selling a self-service or freemium product
- Experience selling security, compliance, or AI/ML-related products
