Job Overview

A leading automotive engineering organization is building a new Platform Software Validation Engineering team and is seeking experienced engineers with strong embedded software development and validation backgrounds.

This is a highly technical, platform-level embedded software validation role. The ideal candidate is an embedded software developer who also has strong testing and validation experience.

Engineers will work across multiple vehicle ECUs and platform components, focusing on RTOS, embedded drivers, hardware abstraction layers, networking, file systems, chipsets, and component-level validation.

This is not a traditional QA/test automation role. Candidates should have hands-on experience working close to embedded software, hardware, drivers, or platform technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation strategies for embedded platform software.
• Validate embedded software at the platform, driver, and chipset level.
• Design and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
• Validate RTOS-based embedded systems and platform components.
• Perform driver-level and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) validation.
• Validate microcontroller and chipset functionality.
• Test and stress-test embedded network stacks and communication interfaces.
• Perform file system validation, including functional, performance, reliability, and stress testing.
• Debug software and hardware issues using appropriate debugging and trace tools.
• Analyze logs, traces, failures, and system behavior to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with embedded software developers, hardware engineers, and system teams.
• Build and maintain component-level test environments.
• Support integration, regression, performance, and system-level validation.
• Contribute to test automation and validation frameworks where applicable.
• Participate in code reviews, defect analysis, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience for mid-level candidates or 5+ years for senior candidates.
• Strong experience in embedded software development and/or embedded software validation.
• Strong understanding of C/C++.
• Junior-level Python knowledge is acceptable.
• Hands-on experience with RTOS environments.
• Experience validating embedded drivers or hardware abstraction layers.
• Experience with microcontroller/chipset-level debugging or validation.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and software/hardware interaction.
• Experience with network stack testing or validation.
• Experience with file system testing/validation.
• Experience with debugging, logs, traces, and failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of software validation methodologies and test planning.
