About the job
Role : Linux Edge Fleet Engineer
Location : Minneapolis, MN
We are looking for an experienced Fleet Engineer with strong hands-on experience managing Linux-based edge device fleets and deploying containerized applications across distributed devices.
🔑 Key Skills Required:
- BalenaCloud / balenaCLI / Metropolis
- Docker & Docker Compose
- Linux administration – Ubuntu, Debian, Raspberry Pi OS
- CI/CD – GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Container image build, optimization & deployment
- Git
- Bash/Shell scripting
- Python for automation, deployment & monitoring
- Remote device troubleshooting, diagnostics & log analysis
- Network configuration and security for remote edge devices
- API integration & automation scripting
- Edge device fleet management and OTA (Over-the-Air) updates
⭐ Good to Have:
- Azure IoT / AWS IoT / Google Cloud IoT
- MQTT, REST APIs, WebSockets
- VPNs, firewalls & proxies
- Air-gapped/offline deployment
- Kubernetes/K3s at the edge
- Device security, certificate management & secure boot
- Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
- ARM-based devices such as Raspberry Pi / Jetson
- Red Hat Linux
