Roush Yates is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive product quality from quote to production. This role is ideal for a technically minded problem-solver who understands GD&T, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes-and wants to play a key role in delivering precision products that meet demanding customer requirements.
What You'll Do
- Review customer requirements, drawings, and specifications during quoting and translate them into effective inspection strategies, including gaging, fixturing, and inspection costs.
- Develop and maintain inspection plans covering raw materials, first-piece, in-process, receiving, outside processes, final inspection, and AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI/FAIR).
- Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, and customers to resolve quality issues, analyze inspection data, and continuously improve processes using FMEA, Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles.
- Ensure inspection documentation, models, prints, and customer requirements are accurate, organized, and controlled.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, metrology, engineering, or a related technical field; bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprints/engineering drawings, gaging, measurement methods, and inspection processes.
- Experience with control plans, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced production environment.
- CMM experience, calibration knowledge, MRB/corrective action experience, and AS9100/ISO 13485 familiarity are highly desirable.
- Bonus: Zeiss or Hexagon CMM programming, CAD experience, or Gage R&R/capability study knowledge.
Requirements
- Must meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected, as follows: Snellen 14/18, 20/25 or better, Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, or Ortho-Rated 8.
- ITAR compliance requires the individual to be a 'U.S. person' (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
