Your mission
As a Technical Program Manager, you'll work closely with the CTO and Engineering leadership to turn technical and strategic priorities into structured programmes, coordinated execution and predictable delivery across multiple teams.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong programme management skills with a solid understanding of software engineering, modern technology environments and business-critical financial systems.
Your Tech Environment
You will work in a modern, cloud-native stack with clear ownership and no legacy surprises:
Backend: Java 17+, Spring Boot (Core, Security, Data, Cloud), REST APIs, event-driven services, Camunda
Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, RDS, CloudWatch), Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD
Data & Messaging: PostgreSQL, AMQP / Kafka-style message brokers, event-driven architecture
Observability: OpenSearch / ELK, Prometheus / Micrometer, OpenTelemetry (in progress)
Integrations: Open Banking providers, banking partners, external payment systems
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate technical initiatives across multiple Engineering teams, keeping scope, timelines and dependencies clear
- Build and maintain delivery plans, including milestones, dependencies, risks, blockers and key actions
- Track progress across multiple teams and provide clear status updates on delivery, risks and dependencies
- Work with Engineering and Product teams to break down high-level initiatives into clear deliverables, milestones and actionable work
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies and follow up with owners to ensure actions are completed on time
- Maintain clear ownership of open actions, decisions, risks and blockers throughout the programme lifecycle
- Prepare and maintain Confluence documentation, including programme plans, meeting notes, decisions, status updates and delivery documentation
- Organise planning, status and delivery meetings, ensuring agendas, actions and decisions are clearly documented
- Support backlog and requirements discussions, helping ensure work is sufficiently defined before Engineering planning
- Prepare regular delivery reports and dashboards for Engineering and Product stakeholders
- Maintain visibility across technology initiatives, including payments, banking integrations, card processing, liquidity, observability and platform development
- Identify opportunities to improve Jira workflows, reporting, planning routines and delivery processes
- Follow up on decisions and actions from technical and cross-functional meetings through to completion
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Technical Project Management or a similar role
- Experience coordinating technical projects or initiatives involving Engineering teams
- Hands-on experience using Jira for project planning, backlog tracking, dependencies, risks, dashboards and reporting
- Good working knowledge of Confluence for programme documentation, meeting notes, decisions and status reporting
- Experience setting up or maintaining Jira boards, workflows, dashboards or other delivery tracking tools
- Ability to structure technical work into clear milestones, deliverables, owners and timelines
- Experience tracking project progress and identifying risks, blockers and dependencies early
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern engineering practices
- Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Practical understanding of Agile, Scrum or Kanban
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with regulated payment environments, including PCI DSS, AML/KYC or EMI compliance requirements
- Background in software engineering, data or another technology discipline
- Experience with payment processing, money movement, banking integrations, payment providers, card schemes or cross-border payments
