The role

We're looking for a senior engineer to join our existing team and help take Ihsan Connect to
global scale. It's hands-on: you'll work across the React Native app and the Go backend,
improving the product we already have and getting it ready for serious international growth. We
especially want to hear from engineers who've helped build a real messaging or communication
app.

What you'll work on

• One-to-one and group messaging
• Real-time delivery: ordering, retries, deduplication and delivery status
• Offline sync and local storage
• End-to-end encryption and key management
• Multi-device sessions and account recovery
• Media, files and voice messages
• Push notifications on iOS and Android
• Voice and video calls
• Blocking, reporting and abuse prevention
• Backend reliability, monitoring and horizontal scaling
• Performance across iOS and Android, and the store releases

What we're looking for

• Senior engineer who has shipped and maintained production mobile apps
• Strong React Native and TypeScript
• Real understanding of real-time messaging architecture
• WebSockets, push notifications and offline sync
• How iOS and Android behave in the background
• Ability to design reliable systems and debug hard production problems
• Strong product judgment and ownership
• Clear written and spoken English
• Comfortable working remotely in a fast-moving founding team

Nice to have

• Built or substantially contributed to a messenger
• Go and PostgreSQL
• WebRTC (voice and video)
• End-to-end encryption or Signal Protocol
• Multi-device identity and key management
• Supporting large numbers of concurrent connections
• Trust and safety, or anti-spam
• Products for international or emerging markets

Who this role is not for

If your experience is mostly small apps, prototypes or front-end-only work without real-time or
backend depth, this probably isn't the right fit. We need someone who can own reliability at scale.
Your first project

Take one real reliability problem in the messenger end to end. For example: make message delivery
correct and fast on a flaky mobile connection, with proper ordering, retries and offline sync, and
prove it on real devices.
