Role Description The Interior Design Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Annapolis, MD, responsible for leading a team of design consultants and driving sales performance within the Design Center. This role oversees day-to-day showroom operations, including coaching and mentoring team members, managing client appointments, and ensuring an exceptional client experience from initial consultation through project completion. The manager actively participates in interior design sales, develops tailored design solutions, prepares presentations and proposals, and follows up to close business. Responsibilities also include analyzing sales metrics, implementing sales strategies, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and collaborating with corporate teams on marketing and promotional initiatives. The role requires regular interaction with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to brand standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including coaching, performance management, and the ability to motivate a sales and design team.
- Strong interior design capabilities, with experience in space planning, furniture and materials selection, color coordination, and creating cohesive design concepts.
- Proven sales and client relationship skills, including consultative selling, negotiation, closing, and managing a pipeline of residential or commercial design projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present design solutions clearly, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and provide outstanding client service.
- Organizational and project management skills, including managing multiple client projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Comfort with technology and design tools, such as CRM systems, POS platforms, and interior design or visualization software.
- Experience in luxury retail, home furnishings, or interior design environments is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to work on-site in Annapolis, MD, including weekends and evenings as needed for client appointments and showroom operations.
