Job Title: Senior Transmission Line Engineer

Summary

Seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to serve as the technical lead for high-voltage transmission line projects. This role is heavily focused on transmission design, engineering leadership, technical quality, and mentoring engineers. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in transmission line engineering and have strong experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead transmission line design from conceptual engineering through detailed design.
• Perform and oversee:
• EFM calculations
• Conductor sizing
• Induction studies
• Impedance calculations
• Loss calculations
• Voltage drop calculations
• Lead economic conductor selection studies.
• Lead lightning performance studies.
• Perform electrical clearance calculations in accordance with NESC requirements.
• Interpret and apply NERC, FERC, and regional transmission standards.
• Prepare transmission equipment specifications, RFQs, bid evaluations, and equipment recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers, engineers, and clients.
• Perform quality reviews of engineering documents and specifications.
• Support construction administration, field inspections, testing activities, and resolution of design issues.
• Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
• Support project planning, scheduling, scope development, cost estimating, and change management.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
• Support business development efforts and proposal preparation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of transmission engineering experience.
• Strong transmission line engineering and design background.
