About the Role

The Sales Engineer plays a key role in bridging technical expertise with customer needs, supporting the development and delivery of cable and harness solutions. This position is responsible for working with customers and internal teams to develop designs, propose improvements, and ensure successful execution throughout the product lifecycle. This role requires strong collaboration across engineering, sales, purchasing, and production teams to ensure products are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and propose improvements to cable and harness assembly solutions
• Support and help oversee the product lifecycle, from concept through production and delivery
• Evaluate project feasibility and ensure all resources are in place for successful manufacturing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams
• Assist with RFQs, quoting, and technical proposals
• Handle and resolve customer issues and complaints from a technical perspective
• Review and support creation of engineering drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Recommend appropriate materials, connectors, contacts, and cable components
• Ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent technical experience)
• Experience with cable assemblies, wire harnesses, or electromechanical products preferred
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (metal, plastics, or industrial environments)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor or similar is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on practical, cost-effective solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and internal teams
