Role: iSeries Developer Analyst (RPG)

The position can be remote in the US, but the client expects the person closer to Dallas, TX area so they can meet up with the team from time to time in their corporate office.

Contract: 6 months

About The Opportunity

Client is seeking a highly experienced iSeries Developer Analyst to support and enhance critical business applications in our IBM i (AS/400) environment. In this role, you'll leverage your RPG development expertise to design, develop, maintain, and optimize solutions that support key business operations and customer outcomes. You'll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to solve complex challenges, drive system improvements, and ensure the stability and performance of our core applications. Your Day-to-Day at Client

• Design, develop, maintain, and support applications within an IBM i (AS/400) environment.
• Write, modify, test, and deploy code using RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, RPG Free, SQL, and CL.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and system issues in a timely manner.
• Support and enhance database structures, queries, and reporting utilizing SQL and DB2 concepts.
• Collaborate with business partners and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions and system enhancements.
• Participate in systems integration activities and support IBM i security-related functions.
• Perform code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure application reliability and performance.
• Manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting established delivery timelines.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

We'd Love To Hear From You If You Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of programming experience utilizing RPG and CL within an IBM i (AS/400) environment.

• Strong experience with:

• RPG III, RPG IV, RPG ILE, RPG Free

• CL Programming

• SQL

• IBM i (AS/400) systems

• DB2 and relational database concepts

• Systems integration and IBM i security support

• Preferred experience with:

• LSAMS Mortgage Servicing System

• COBOL 400/ILE

• FTP and Secure FTP

• PGP encryption technologies

• 5+ years of experience in an IT or Quality Assurance role within the Financial Services industry.

• Mortgage Servicing industry experience strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of relational database design and architecture.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and standard productivity tools.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and consistently meet project deadlines.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to remain effective under pressure while resolving time-sensitive issues.
