Role Description
The Quality Control Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbia, MO. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure projects meet company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site inspections, reviewing plans and specifications, monitoring workmanship and materials, and documenting quality issues and corrective actions. The Quality Control Manager collaborates closely with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve quality-related concerns and support timely, compliant project delivery. The role also involves preparing quality reports, training team members on quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement across projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in construction quality control or construction management, preferably on industrial, commercial, or municipal projects.
- Strong skills in site inspection, documentation, and compliance with building codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts, and to communicate technical requirements clearly.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Proficiency with standard office software and construction-related tools (e.g., project management or quality tracking systems).
- Detail-oriented approach, strong problem-solving abilities, and commitment to continuous improvement in quality processes.
- Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of LEED, green building practices, or healthcare construction standards is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Columbia, MO, including visiting active job sites and performing physical inspections.
General Work Expectations
The general expectation is that this employee will be a traditional 40-hour, salaried employee with variable hours given based on project expectations. Generally, this employee should be in the office or job site from 7-7:30 in the morning until 4-4:30 in the afternoon with some given flexibility. All LDC employees are required to be present at a weekly office staff meeting, held every Tuesday morning at 7:00 am.
