About the job

Build the backend that powers better customer conversations.

At Comm100, we’re building technology that helps organizations have better conversations with their customers. Our digital customer engagement platform is used by more than 10,000 organizations globally, including HP, Rackspace, the Government of Canada, Google and Stanford University.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) to help us build the reliable, scalable technology behind that experience.

If you enjoy solving challenging backend problems, thinking about architecture and performance, and seeing your work make its way into a product used by thousands of organizations, this is a role where you can make a real impact.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality backend services and applications using C# and .NET.
  • Take ownership of features from technical design through development, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
  • Build scalable and reliable APIs and services that support high-volume customer interactions.
  • Develop clean, maintainable code using strong object-oriented design and software engineering principles.
  • Work with relational databases on database design, SQL development, query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Investigate complex technical issues, diagnose root causes and develop durable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA and other engineering teams to turn requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions and contribute ideas that improve our platform.
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and other engineering best practices.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, security and maintainability.
  • Use AI-powered coding and development tools to accelerate development, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Keep learning and experimenting with new technologies, frameworks and engineering approaches.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET / .NET Core and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience with Entity Framework.
  • Strong SQL and relational database skills, including database design and performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles and software architecture.
  • Experience building web applications, APIs and backend services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in understanding how systems work.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to share knowledge with others.
  • Experience working on large-scale or high-concurrency applications is a strong plus.
  • Experience with AI-powered development tools or AI-driven technologies is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

Why Comm100?

You won’t just be maintaining an existing codebase. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how our platform evolves. We’re looking for engineers who are curious, take ownership and enjoy solving problems that don’t always have an obvious answer.

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation: $105,000 – $140,000 CAD per year
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible working environment and office hours
  • Quarterly team-building and social events
  • Opportunities for professional learning, growth and career advancement
  • A collaborative environment where engineers have a voice in technical decisions
  • The opportunity to incorporate AI into how you build and solve problems

Location

This is a fully on-site position based in our office in Downtown Vancouver

We sincerely thank all applicants for their interest; however, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada and must already be located in Vancouver.
