About the job
About Nukleas
Nukleas is a technology company with a mission to transform and build the foundational Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for America’s Defense Industrial Base. We are committed to bringing together cutting edge technology and federal contracting expertise to eliminate the critical bottlenecks in the Defense Ecosystem. Nukleas provides a unified procurement readiness platform delivering mission-critical operational systems for contractors to meet cybersecurity, accounting, supply chain, and all other DFARS post-award regulatory requirements at low cost and effort.
The Role
We are seeking a Fullstack Engineer to build and scale the core modules of the Nukleas platform, including CMMC, DCAA, ITAR, and the regulatory systems that follow. This is a high-ownership role for an engineer who wants to build the core substance of the product.
You will own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through iteration and production deployment. You will take loosely defined, multi-week projects, scope them, sequence them, and ship them with minimal supervision.
You will design and develop high-quality software across the full stack, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and performant in a heavily regulated context. You will translate compliance requirements into practical technical controls, and implement best practices for security, testing, and deployment across both front-end and back-end systems.
You will partner closely with Product and the rest of Engineering to shape requirements and technical tradeoffs, and participate in architecture reviews and peer code reviews.
The expectation is for someone who is willing to work hybrid from our office in New York City, NY, though we will consider exceptional fully-remote candidates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a software engineering role, building and scaling full-stack web applications.
- Experience working in a startup environment, or genuine comfort with the speed and execution a startup expects.
- A track record of owning projects from concept to completion, and driving work from ambiguous requirements to a shipped product without heavy oversight.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with basic DevOps concepts and Docker.
- Familiarity with AI tools for coding, and the ability to use them to scope work and navigate an unfamiliar codebase.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, modern web architecture, and testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a strong sense of product ownership.
Highly Desired
- Azure/AWS DevOps experience and security certifications.
- Demonstrable experience with compliance standards such as FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and DoD Impact Levels (ILs).
- Direct experience within the Defense, Aerospace, Government, or Industrial Technology sectors.
Work Authorization
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
