Role Description The Senior Fire Control System Engineer will provide on-site engineering support at Redstone Arsenal, AL in a full-time capacity. This role focuses on the design, analysis, integration, and sustainment of fire control systems and related subsystems for defense and mission-critical applications. Daily responsibilities include developing and reviewing system requirements, performing system and software integration activities, conducting verification and validation testing, and analyzing performance data to improve system reliability and effectiveness. The engineer will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including software, hardware, and logistics personnel, to resolve technical issues, support risk and failure analyses, and contribute to technology development and product assurance efforts. The role also involves preparing technical documentation, participating in design reviews, and supporting real-time mission and field operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong fire control and weapon system engineering skills, including system design, analysis, integration, and performance assessment.
- Candidates should possess experience with systems engineering practices, such as requirements development, verification and validation, risk analysis, and configuration management.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in modeling, simulation, and data analysis tools used for fire control, targeting, and mission planning functions.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with secure software development, subsystem integration, and testing processes for mission-critical or defense-related systems.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional engineering, logistics, and program management teams.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant experience with Army or DoD fire control systems, Redstone Arsenal programs, or similar defense platforms is highly beneficial.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate U.S. security clearance, and familiarity with applicable military standards and documentation practices, is preferred.
