About Testeract

Testeract designs and builds test systems that evolve. We are redefining modularity, code reuse, runtime flexibility, and test system resilience so test systems adapt, scale, and help engineers get their ideas to market faster.

From inception to installation, Testeract brings the software, hardware, and systems integration expertise to solve difficult test challenges and build your internal test engineering capabilities and resources.

Our customers are leading innovators in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, transportation, and medical instruments—sectors where device failure is not an option.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in PCB design, electronic test and measurement, and automated test development. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting electronic hardware and supporting the development of automated test systems used to validate products and assemblies.

The ideal candidate is very experienced in designing a circuit board but can also work with and troubleshoot test hardware. Candidates with additional skills developing automated test sequences using LabVIEW and TestStand are a plus. This position requires strong hands-on engineering skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with engineering teams and technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain analog, digital, and mixed-signal PCBs.

• Create schematics, PCB layouts, and supporting electrical documentation.

• Select and evaluate electronic components based on performance, availability, cost, and reliability.

• Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and design verification.

• Develop designs for power distribution, signal conditioning, data acquisition, communications, and control systems.

• Work with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.

• Perform design reviews and contribute to design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test initiatives.

• Support PCB bring-up, debugging, modification, and design revisions.

• Develop and execute electrical and functional test plans for electronic assemblies and systems.

• Design and build test fixtures, test interfaces, cables, and harnesses.

• Select and integrate test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, and data acquisition systems.

• Develop methods for measuring electrical performance, including voltage, current, resistance, frequency, timing, and signal integrity.

• Troubleshoot hardware failures using schematics, test equipment, and systematic root-cause analysis.

• Support qualification, validation, verification, and environmental testing.

• Provide hands-on engineering support in an electrical test and measurement laboratory.

• Work directly with technicians to troubleshoot hardware and test equipment.

• Assist with development, assembly, and commissioning of custom test equipment and racks.

• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and test documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, hardware development, test engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience with PCB schematic and layout design.

• Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD/Allegro, KiCad, or similar.

• Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic hardware using standard laboratory test equipment.

• Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, FPGA-based systems, or communication interfaces.

• Experience integrating and controlling test and measurement equipment.

• Ability to create professional electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB documentation.

• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a test engineering lab environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with high-speed digital, RF, Filter Design, Signal Conditioning, or mixed-signal circuit design.

• Experience designing and assembling automated test racks and instrumentation systems.

• Experience developing applications in LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, MATLAB, or other test/automation software.
