About the job

About Klizmo: Klizmo is a native iOS app for competitive and structured-training cyclists, built around precise, data-driven performance feedback rather than social features, leaderboards, or gamification. We're a pre-launch startup moving toward public availability this fall, with real users already using the product.
Why now: The founder has taken this from zero to a working iOS app — SwiftUI/SwiftData front end, Supabase storage, Railway backend, a confirmed Garmin OAuth/webhook/FIT-sync pipeline, and a real design system — entirely solo, using Cursor as an implementation partner. Backend infrastructure is done and stable. What's left to close before public launch is squarely iOS: subscription/entitlement correctness, a couple of real onboarding bugs, and an app-state gating issue in onboarding. What's missing is a second technical brain who wants equity ownership, not an invoice — someone to own iOS depth now and backend architecture for what's next (a Coach Platform with per-athlete scoring, roster tools, and eventually per-segment workout compliance).
What you'd own:
- iOS engineering depth beyond what an AI pair-programmer catches on its own — closing out the current pre-launch bug list (StoreKit 2 entitlement correctness, app-state gating logic around onboarding, onboarding navigation issues)
- Long-term: backend architecture for the Coach Platform roadmap (roster views, per-segment compliance scoring, coach-athlete data model)
- Full technical co-ownership going forward — architecture calls, stack decisions, hiring input as the team grows
What we're looking for:
- Strong iOS (Swift/SwiftUI/SwiftData) experience — this is the immediate need
- Backend competency (Postgres, Node.js/Railway) for the roadmap ahead, even if iOS is your primary strength today
- Comfortable working alongside AI coding tools (Cursor) as leverage, not a threat to the role
- Genuine interest in cycling/endurance sport data, or at least the "precision instrument, not a hype machine" product philosophy
- Founder-mode mindset: equity-only, pre-revenue-at-scale, real ownership required
Ideal fit: Someone who's shipped production iOS apps solo or near-solo, has real opinions about data integrity and app architecture, and wants in at the ground floor of a niche, opinionated product.
Compensation: Equity only (meaningful founder-level equity, negotiable based on scope of ownership) — no salary at this stage.
