About the job

Location: Piscataway, NJ or Charlotte, NC

Responsibilities

Strategic & Architectural Leadership

  • Lead the architecture and delivery of the migration to Revenue Cloud, including target-state revenue process design, product and pricing models, data migration, and a phased implementation plan that avoids business disruption mid-quarter.
  • Own the multi-year Salesforce platform roadmap, aligning platform investments with business outcomes and sequencing initiatives according to company strategy.
  • Develop and defend build-versus-buy and build-versus-configure recommendations, including the assessment and selection of AppExchange solutions and implementation partners.
  • Own integrations and data architecture across upstream and downstream systems, including integration patterns, middleware strategy, master data management, and data governance.
  • Lead the architectural onboarding of acquisitions and new business units onto the Salesforce platform by assessing acquired environments, defining the target state, and planning migration, consolidation, and data conversion.
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and governance practices to ensure consistent decision-making as the number of stakeholders increases.
  • Serve as the design authority for significant platform changes, reviewing solution designs prior to development and maintaining an explicit, prioritized technical debt backlog.
  • Own the release and DevOps strategy, including source control, environment and sandbox management, and deployment pipelines.
  • Translate Salesforce roadmap changes—including new releases, retiring features, and licensing model changes—into actionable plans for the business, advising leadership on associated costs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Information Security on platform security architecture, access model design, and audit and compliance requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and retain a team of administrators while building the business case for additional platform capacity as the organization grows.
  • Manage the team directly, including conducting regular one-on-ones, setting goals, completing performance reviews, and maintaining individual career development plans.
  • Maintain accountability for reliable platform operations, including production incidents, integration failure triage, scheduled job and Flow error monitoring, and the lifecycle management of certificates, credentials, and Connected Apps.
  • Establish the team’s operating practices, including intake, prioritization, estimation, documentation, peer review, and definition of done.
  • Own capacity planning and prioritization, negotiating scope and sequencing with stakeholders across departments while making trade-offs explicit.
  • Mentor the team in Salesforce architecture and technical craft, raising the technical bar through design reviews and pairing rather than taking on the work personally.
  • Manage relationships with implementation partners, contractors, and Salesforce account and support teams, ensuring external delivery meets the same standards as internal work.
  • Represent the Salesforce team to executive stakeholders, communicating roadmap, progress, risks, and resourcing requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Salesforce platform experience, including experience in an architecture or lead solution design capacity.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team, managing direct reports, or in a similar leadership capacity.
  • Experience integrating acquired companies or new business units into an existing Salesforce instance.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ internals, including amendment and renewal logic, subscription pricing, and the quote-to-order data model, as well as experience with Revenue Cloud (RLM / Revenue Cloud Advanced).
  • Proven experience architecting and administering complex Salesforce environments with multiple integrations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from end users to executives.
