Stinger is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support and improve the technology infrastructure that enables our employees and business operations. This hands-on role administers Microsoft 365, identity and access, endpoints, servers, networks, cloud services, and core infrastructure platforms. The Systems Administrator provides Tier 1 through Tier 3 technical support, maintains the reliability and security of company systems, and serves as a trusted technical resource for employees across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with clear communication and consistent ownership through resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee technology questions, incidents, and service requests.
- Provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 support for hardware, software, identity, access, endpoint, network, printer, telecommunications, conference room, and business application issues.
- Receive, document, categorize, prioritize, troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve requests through the company ticketing system.
- Assist employees with password resets, multifactor authentication registration, account lockouts, email configuration, application access, printer connectivity, software installation, and common hardware issues.
- Set up and deploy laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices, phones, peripherals, and other employee technology.
- Perform onboarding, role-change, and offboarding tasks, including account creation, access provisioning, group membership, license assignment, equipment deployment, and access removal.
- Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot operating systems, infrastructure services, application software, and network devices.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, user licensing, groups, authentication, and access controls.
- Administer endpoints through Microsoft Intune, including enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment, operating system updates, encryption, and security baselines.
- Support Windows and macOS computers, mobile devices, printers, phones, conference room systems, and related employee technology.
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, servers, storage appliances, VPN services, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.
Investigate suspicious emails, authentication events, endpoint alerts, and other potential security incidents in coordination with cybersecurity leadership.
Assist with the administration and monitoring of Cloud resources and other approved cloud services.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers when escalation or specialized assistance is required.
Participate in infrastructure upgrades, application deployments, security improvements, office technology projects, and other IT initiatives.
Communicate technical issues in clear language and provide employees with meaningful updates through resolution.
Perform other technology and infrastructure responsibilities as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of two-year degree from accredited college or university in computer sciences, business administration, mathematics, or related fields.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in systems administration, Microsoft 365 administration, infrastructure support, help desk support, network administration, endpoint management, or a similar technical role.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, security, networking, or cloud certification.
- Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365, including users, licensing, groups, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience delivering direct technical support through in-person, remote, telephone, and ticket-based interactions.
- Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and common business applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune or a comparable endpoint management platform.
- Experience troubleshooting identity, authentication, endpoint, application, hardware, and network issues.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless networking, switching, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience supporting servers, virtualization, storage, backup, or cloud-hosted infrastructure.
- Understanding of multifactor authentication, least privilege, access control, encryption, patch management, endpoint protection, and secure configuration.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests, operational responsibilities, and project assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, own issues through resolution, document findings, and recognize when escalation or peer review is required.
Environmental/Physical Requirements:
- May sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, and lifting daily.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours – Full Time: Monday – Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM with the ability to work variable extended hours; may include travel at times which can include evenings and / or weekends.
Position Location: St. Petersburg, FL
Travel: 5 to 10% travel during project deployment
