Senior Designer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Designer / Draftsperson to join our engineering team in St John’s, Canada, on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Structural Team Lead, the Senior Designer/Draftsperson plays a key role within the Engineering team, delivering accurate, high-quality drafting and design services that support the effective execution of engineering projects.

We are looking for a professional that will prepare sketches, storyboards, models and drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor software, to support the engineering team in preparing project documentation.

What will you be doing?

Some Of The Main Responsibilities Of The Role Include

• Production of 2D/3D storyboards, subsea installation sequences, and lift rigging arrangements using Inventor & AutoCAD software
• Design and modelling of structures using 3D Inventor software
• Production of 2D detailed fabrication drawings of steel structures using Inventor software and AutoCAD software
• Production of detailed subsea field layouts and alignment sheets
• Planning and preparing vessel deck layouts together with project engineers
• Conduct self-check on drawings / sketches
• Cooperate with the other personnel in the CAD Group and other disciplines
• Apply acquired knowledge of relevant engineering principles to complement the design process
• Assist in checking drawings for accuracy and completeness

• An industry recognised technical education in CAD design
• Relevant experience with CAD design related to marine systems and structural engineering
• Trained to a minimum proficient level with AutoCAD 2D/3D software and Inventor 3D software
• Experienced in producing clear and accurate technical designs/drawings.
• Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and interface effectively across all levels of the organisation. Capable of working on their own as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Demonstrates effective organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver work within agreed deadlines.
